The third phase of TT Kidz is open for applications from clubs which want to deliver the new, inspiring initiative to get youngsters into the sport.

Over the first two phases, the programme has been delivered in 46 clubs nationally, engaging almost 750 children.

We are now looking for clubs to build on year one of TT Kidz by hosting the next wave of TT Kidz programmes. All training for Phase 3 for TT Kidz will be completed online. Any new clubs keen to get involved will also be able to apply for funding through the Be TT Programme

If you need any encouragement, here is some feedback from a couple of clubs and parents who have been involved.

It has been a massive success for us at Kingfisher and amazing to see many new young faces playing table tennis for the first time, having lots of fun and making friends. All the children left the first session buzzing and excited and wanting to come back – Raj Patel, Kingfisher Table Tennis Club

My daughter, although having played a little table tennis at school, was not overly excited at the prospect of attending and how enthusiastic she was about the lesson and the quality of coaching was a genuine surprise and a credit to everyone involved – participant at Whittlesey TTC

My daughter has settled in and is enjoying them. I have been really impressed with the effort and knowledge of the coaches – participant at Carlton Le Willows

And if you still need convincing, watch our video to find out more about how TT Kidz will help your club:

What is TT Kidz?

TT Kidz is an eight-week programme developed by Table Tennis England to provide youngsters with an inspiring, engaging and fun first experience in the sport. The central aims are:

  • To provide young people with an inspiring, engaging and fun first experience in the sport
  • To enable us to build national partnerships with organisations that can help take the sport to more young people
  • To provide clubs and coaches with a more attractive programme to take into schools and community groups to enhance a table tennis offer
  • To engage new young coaches/activators in the sport

The TT Kidz programme provides clubs with specially researched and designed sessions to help them introduce a whole new generation of children to our great game, and giving them the skills necessary to enjoy a great game of table tennis for themselves.

It could potentially add a new, dynamic aspect to your club, giving you and your fellow coaches the chance to engage with children and parents, and teach the game in a new, refreshing way.

Clubs that are part of the programme receive support from Table Tennis England, including resources, training and marketing assistance.

Applications to deliver TT Kidz in October are now open. Please fill in the form at the bottom of the page.

Please be advised that we will still be following government advice about participation in sport and exercise and if it is not possible for TT Kidz Phase 3 to take place in October 2020, it will run instead in February 2021. We will be able to provide online training and support for all clubs to ensure they are ready to host TT Kidz. Please click here to view all Table Tennis England advice on Covid-19.

Please note: To deliver the programme, your club needs to be PremierClub affiliated or to become PremierClub affiliated. To find out more about club affiliation click here.
