Nicole Scott and Louis Price won bronze medals at the Andro Open – rated the biggest youth table tennis event in Europe with more than 1,400 youth participants.

Scott reached the podium places in both the under-13 singles and team events, losing to Serbia’s Irina Dujmovic in the semi-finals of the individual event – the same player who had beaten her in the consolation final of the Austria Sparkasse event in April.

Paired with Germany’s Venus Nuri in the team event, Scott again reached the semi-finals, only to lose a close match 3-2 to Polish opponents Anna Kubiak and Laura Kaluzny. Scott and Nuri are pictured above with their trophies.

Price had a great run to the semi-finals of the under-12 category, where he lost to the eventual winner 11-9 in the fifth.

Stan Shilton and Rachael Scott also performed creditably at the event in Dusseldorf.

In the under 13 category, Shilton made it through to the last 16, losing a tight five-setter to a strong opponent from Germany.

Rachael Scott partnered Kerry O’Mahoney of Ireland in the under-16 team event and lost out 3-2 in the quarter-finals. She reached the same stage in the individual event, losing to the top seed and eventual runner-up from Germany.
