As we start to look forward and plan for a return to table tennis, now is an ideal time for clubs and leagues to check-in on safeguarding and ensure that they are up to date with all of the latest information.
To assist this, Table Tennis England will be hosting a series of webinars starting on Wednesday June 10.
Topics will include;
- Why is Safeguarding Important for Table Tennis Clubs and Leagues? (Wednesday June 10, noon):
How can clubs protect all their members, how to manage certain scenarios, club responsibilities and where to find guidance. - The Role of the Welfare Officer (Wednesday June 17, noon):
Why does a club need a welfare officer, what are the responsibilities of the role and how much time does it take? What experience should a person have and where can they access training? - Volunteer Recruitment and DBS Checking (Wednesday June 24, noon):
Who needs to be checked – the roles, what type of check should be undertaken, portability of checks, using the Update Service.
See links above for recordings of the webinars.
UK Coaching have also developed online Safeguarding and Protecting Children courses so you don’t need to wait for face to face courses to complete training.
Below are two online Safeguarding courses:
- Tutor led online – for those who haven’t completed a Safeguarding course before
- Renewal online course – for those who have previously completed the workshop
Given the growing emphasis of operating online, guidance on online safety has also been added to the Coronavirus advice section of this website.
