Gavin Rumgay is top seed for the Preston Grand Prix. The Scotsman, who has well over 20 Grand Prix titles to his name, did not play singles last season but is back on the entry list for the opening event of the new season.

His immediate rivals in the seedings are no strangers to Grand Prix success themselves – No 2 Jiawang Song won the men’s singles at three of last season’s five events, while No 3 Grigory Vlasov won the season-ending London GP.

Jenny Liu is the top seed in the women’s singles. She is another champion from last season, having won in Wolverhampton. Her nearest rivals in the seedings are Grand Prix regulars Mollie Patterson and Elena Todirca.

The event takes place on the weekend of September 21-22. Once again, the format features Banded events on the Saturday followed by men’s and women’s singles, under-21s and veterans, plus open doubles on the Sunday.
