Brian Rowlen, Chairman of the Clacton and District Table Tennis League since 1984 and a League stalwart for over fifty years, has been honoured with an Essex Sports Award.

Brian was placed second in the “Volunteer and Unsung Hero” category for 2011.

He was presented with the award by David East, Chief Executive of Essex Cricket Club, at a recent ceremony held at Colchester United’s Weston Homes Stadium.

The Sports Awards are organised jointly by Essex County Council and BBC Radio Essex.
