Andrew Baggaley recently shot up to his highest world ranking of 139 before becoming Britain’s top ranked world player in the November lists. The experienced member of the team, Andrew has won five Commonwealth Games medals and just this summer won the VIC International tournament in Spain.

Who are you?
Andrew Baggaley – Britain’s leading table tennis medalist of all time at the Commonwealth Games (winning 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals & 1 bronze medal). I am also a three-time English Men’s Singles National Champion.

When/how did you get involved with table tennis?
I first started playing table tennis at the age of four with my mother Yvonne on an old table tennis table in the back garden of our family home, in Milton Keynes. I have been coached by my brother Stephen throughout my career.

What do the Olympics mean to you?
The Olympics are clearly the pinnacle of my career and the most important event I will ever compete in.
