Liam Pitchford added to his list of impressive recent victories and avenged a Commonwealth Games defeat in the latest round of the Ultimate Table Tennis League in India.

Pitchford played two singles matches as his Falcons team took on Warriors and was bolstered by his team-mates opening up an 8-1 lead by the time he first took to the court in Match 4.

Up against world No 15 Chuang Chih-Yuan, Pitchford hit 26 winners as he defeated his opponent from Chinese Taipei 2-1 (11-10, 5-11, 11-7).

With Falcons continuing to impress, he was back on court in Match 6 to take on Sharath Achanta of India, who beat him in the Commonwealth Games singles in April.

This time the outcome was different as the Englishman took the victory 2-1 (11-9, 11-4, 10-11) and Falcons completed a 15-6 overall triumph. They are back in action on Sunday against Empowerji Challengers.
