CULTURAL OLYMPIAD COMES TO WARWICK ARTS CENTRE WITH WORLD PREMIERE OF

PING! – MUSIC VS TABLE TENNIS


Join us on Sat 3 March from 12-6pm for the world premiere of Ping! Music vs Table Tennis – and a whole afternoon of free music and table tennis events for all the family including a ping pong DJ, drumming workshops, ping pong badge-making and much more.

Composer Joe Cutler’s new piece of music for string quartet and four table tennis players, Ping! Music vs Table Tennis, is just 12 minutes long and will be performed at 13.00, 15.00 and 17.00

There will be a full programme of table tennis activities:-

  • Hardbat tournament organised by the Hardbat English Association of Table Tennis that will feature some of the best hardbat players in the world showcasing the resurgent “Old Skool” table tennis played with standardised Fairplay bats – Throughout day – Main hall

  • Speed Tournament, one game up to 11, no deuce.  Fast and furious ‘shoot out’ table tennis, lots of games and lots of excitement.  Enter on registration on the day, tournament starts 13:15 – Main hall

  • ‘Come and try’ table tennis coaching workshop run by Fusion TTC coaches with fun games & target practices – 13:30 to 14:45 – Main hall

  • World Record attempt to beat the most players participating in one continuous rally.  Sign up on the day, just bring your bat. 17:15 to 18:00 – Main hall

  • Robo Pong Robot Challenge, Man vs Machine. 13:15 to 16:45  1st floor foyer bar.

  • Table Tennis X box challenge matches played on large projector screen – 13:30 to 18:00 – National Grid Room

  • Classic Table Tennis Film Screenings – 13:30 to 18:00 – Conference Room
