Joanna Parker wasted no time in reach another women’s singles final after demolishing her opponent Lauren Spink in four straight games and just 20 minutes.

Parker will meet Kelly Sibley in the final after she also comprehensively beat her semi-final opponent Hannah Hicks 4-0.

This means that both the heavy favourites Parker and Sibley – the England’s number one and two, will meet in the final that everyone expected and anticipated.

Parker was particularly destructive against Spink as she raced ahead in the first game 11-3. She then stamped her authority on the match with a lightning-fast second game before completing a comfortable win with two 11-6 games.

Sibley had a longer, more drawn-out match with Hicks but was nonetheless efficient in winning through her match to confirm her number two seeding in this event.

Her semi-final was perfect practice for the girl from Leamington-on-Spa as Hicks, like Parker, is a defender.

She won the first two games 11-8 after long and gruelling games with the persistent Hicks staying in the points for as long as possible. In the third she came close to winning one back at 10-10 but Sibley’s extra attacking power proved pivotal as she closed out a 3-0 lead 12-10.

In the end the fourth game proved to be a more subdued affair with the result effectively over as Sibey won 11-7 to set up her meeting with Parker.
