Midland League Reports, 2012

Veterans Division 1: Leamington A 4 Oxford 6

Oxford Veterans A had a close call at Leamington, but made it five wins out of five and now have a commanding lead, seeking to retain their title in the First Division of the Midland League.  Andy Misseldine scored a fine hat-trick of victories over Earl Sweeney, Simon Griew and Phil Paine and got good support from Karl Bushell and Alan Cherry, who is tenaciously holding onto his pole position on the individual leader board.

Veterans Division 1: Nuneaton A 5 Oxford B 5

Oxford Veterans B got a battling draw at Nuneaton A, which gives them a very good chance of keeping their Division 1 status for next season at the first attempt. Aidan Walsh hit maximum for Nuneaton, but Jeff Rigby and Glen Freeman got two wins each and Neil Hurford got one to achieve the draw. Glen battled back from 0-2 down against Andy Lebutt to win 11-9, 11-9, 11-9 and also won at 11-9 in the fifth against Jon Williams, an amazing performance!
