NTU: Alice Loveridge, Emma Vickers, Chris Doran, Danny Lowe, Sean Cullen & Emran Hussain

Table tennis champions from Nottingham Trent University are set to represent Great Britain in the European University Table Tennis Championships in Turkey, from 19–22 June.

Emma Vickers, Alice Loveridge, Caroline Hallows, Chris Doran, Emran Hussain and Daniel Lowe will be playing for Nottingham Trent University at the event organised by the European University Sports Association (EUSA). They were selected after winning their respective British Universities and Colleges Sports Championship (BUCS) titles.

The team, which includes four Team GB ranked players, will be competing in the singles, doubles, and team events, across the four day competition.

Alex Bailey, elite sports development officer at Nottingham Trent University, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for our students. They all have previous experience of competing at a high level in European leagues, which should put them in good stead for this tournament. The strongest rivals are likely to be from Russia and Poland, but we have an exceptionally talented team who I’m sure will perform well throughout the competition.”
