England’s interest in the Polish Open ended at an early stage as all four players went out of the Men’s Singles competition in the qualifying groups in Warsaw.

Only Sam Walker recorded a win, against Belgium’s Florent Lambiet, but defeat to the host nation’s Marek Badowski cost him the chance to progress.

Andrew Baggaley, David McBeath and Helshan Weerasinghe all lost both group matches, although there were some close calls, with McBeath and Baggaley each losing one match in the deciding seventh game.

Weerasinghe won one of his two group matches in the Under-21 Men’s Singles.
