Who will be crowned Butterfly National School Team Champions? Who will lift the ESTTA Trophies? Why not come along and join us for a full day of top class schools’ table tennis!
Twenty-seven schools have fought their way through County, Zone and Regional Championships to reach this year’s Finals to be held at the Hinckley Leisure Centre on Saturday 24th March 2012 with play starting at 9.30am.
Enmore CE Primary School, Bridgwater, Somerset (Under 11 girls), Harefield Academy, Uxbridge, London West (Under 16 boys), Kesteven & Grantham Girls’ School, Grantham, Lincolnshire (Under 19 girls) and London Academy, Edgware, London North (Under 13 boys) will be fighting to retain their crowns but will need to be on top form to beat the strong opposition from around the country.
Calday Grange Grammar School (West Kirby, Merseyside) are joined by Chalfont St. Peter Primary School (Buckinghamshire), Dowdales School (Cumbria), Kesteven & Grantham Girls’ School and The London Academy as the five schools qualifying for the finals in more than one event. Although there are familiar names returning to the finals, there are many new faces to be welcomed.
A full list of the competing teams can be found on the ESTTA website (www.estta.org.uk).
This event is the first major competition to be staged this year in England by the English Schools’ Table Tennis Association. The annual Butterfly Schools’ Individual Championships will be held at The Dome, Doncaster on Saturday 21st April 2012.
ESTTA is sending a full delegation of Champion School Teams, Selected Teams and a Disability Squad to the International School Sport Federation (ISF) World Schools’ Table Tennis Championships, which are being held in Sardinia from 31st March – 6th April 2012.
