NATIONAL COUNCIL SUMMARY: 28.07.09
1. One minute silence was held in memory of Bill Goldfinch (Vice-President).
2. New National Councillor for Isle of Wight County TTA was welcomed with new pass.
3. Detailed discussions took place with regard to the Whole Sport Plan including Intervention Policies and the Transformation programme.
4. The Chief Executive spoke of the need to review the official magazine; Table Tennis News and possibly link the magazine with Individual Affiliation to be able to give one copy to each member.
5. The Chairman and Rules Committee Chairman would produce a circular letter to be sent to the membership regarding Laws of Table Tennis guidelines.
6. Members approved the adoption of the Coach Licence Scheme.
7. Members discussed the possible reinstatement of the National Cadet and Junior Trials. It was agreed that Management Committee would review.
8. National Committee appointments for 2009/10 were approved and noted by members.
9. Members agreed to move the date of the Annual General Meeting from 26.06.10 to 10.07.10 as more time is required by the Auditors to complete the audit. The Treasurer stated this was due to a larger annual turnover of £4.5 million than previous years.
10. The Treasurer proposed to members an increase of 20p for the Insurance Fee Unit, which becomes £3.20 per team. The budget figures presented to the April meeting have not been amended, but any subsequent variances would be dealt with by revising forecasts and highlighting variances.
11. Vice-Chairman (Marketing) reported on the launch of the English Open during the previous week at Sheffield. A4 posters and flyers are available and will be sent to Local Leagues and County Associations shortly.
12. Vice-Chairman (National Coaching) reported on the current position of Coach Education Manager and Regional Coaches.
13. Sue Gilroy (disabled player and coach) received an MBE.
