In these uncertain times, as we adjust to playing under restrictions, our debt of gratitude to those who volunteer in our sport has never been greater.

That’s why we’re extending the nomination period for the Pride of Table Tennis Awards, giving clubs, leagues and other table tennis organisations longer to make sure they honour their unsung heroes.

Nominations now close at 11:59pm on Sunday October 18.

We’re asking clubs and leagues to honour their volunteers at a local level – click here to nominate your club or league volunteer of the year.

All local nominees will go forward into the regional stage of the awards, alongside nominations in other key categories.

The regional winners will then reach the national shortlist stage, which covers the full range of Pride of Table Tennis Awards, including those for coaches, officials, clubs, leagues and inclusivity – and of course featuring the Blue Riband Volunteer of the Year and Young Volunteer of the Year.

These will be presented at a gala dinner to be held at the National Conference in June 2021.

Remember, there are two new awards this year, including the Lockdown Local Hero, which recognises an individual, club or organisation for the impact they have made on an individual, club or local community during the coronavirus period, when it has been vital to stay connected and support each other’s mental and physical health.

The other new category is School of the Year for schools which have made a significant impact in developing young people through table tennis in the past 12 months. This could be through increasing the number of pupils participating, providing opportunities to compete, developing links with the wider table tennis community and/or creating leadership opportunities for pupils.

Help us to celebrate the volunteers who give so much time, enthusiasm and passion to help us all enjoy our sport – nominate today!
