It was a marathon effort that paid off for Fusion TTC members Emma and Gavin Tovey as they raised £4,500 when they combined table tennis with the London Marathon.

The pair carried a mini table tennis table around the course, stopping to play a few points as they made their way around the streets of the capital, raising money for the Brain and Spine Foundation.

Emma said: “We played table tennis a few times along the way – the wind added an extra challenge to it.  Support was superb along the way and kept us going, especially on the last four to five miles.”

The pair’s time was 5 hours 28 minutes.
