ELBOW TANKARD

Parsons have powered their way to the top of Group C of the Leicester Table Tennis League’s Elbow Tankard thanks to a workmanlike 12-8 win over Syston Casuals, with Raja Rahul winning 5/6 and well supported by four wins from Daniel Wilcock.  Parsons have now won three out of three.

Their crucial match will be against Park Strollers who have won both of their encounters so far, the latest a 13-7 win over Park and Ride in which Aman Rashid, having had a superb league season, carried his form on with a blistering 6/6 maximum.  Patrick Carton returned 4/6 while 3/4 from Steve Bessant completed the picture.

Desford Try Hard are having to play all their matches away and finally began with an 11-9 win over Vicars in Group A, Luke Blair securing 5/6. This is going to be a cracking group with Vicars then beating the previously undefeated Villagers 11-9 with Jabbar Singh scoring 4/4 and Aftab Gaffer 4/6.

Only Rashid claimed a 6/6 maximum in the latest results but there were several 4/4 maxes from the doubles’ men including Fayed Sacoor who helped Abbots to a 14-6 victory over Park Attendants in Group B, while Tony Burns helped secure a 10-10 draw for Nomadics against Abbots in the same group.
