Ajax Wolvey, newly promoted from Division Two, hit top spot in Division One with a very fine 6-4 victory over Knighton Park’s first team which was superbly spearheaded by a Jon Williams’ maximum.  Aidan Walsh and Mick Allsop both chipped in with one.  For KP both Karen Smith and the ever improving Tobit Dehnen won two but could not claim the doubles which gave Ajax their prize.

Another maximum for Maurice Newman helped Thringstone to a 6-4 victory over Holwell and this time Alastair Horthorne chipped in with a very good maximum of his own.

Unicorn are second in this division after beating Abbots Road seconds 8-2.  Tim Sheppard won three while Trevor Kerry and Goeff Parson both won two and, forAbbots Road, Amrish Rana won two.

Knighton Park thirds had been taking all before them so far in Division Two but they were stopped in their tracks by their own fifth team of juniors when a terrific match ended 5-5.  Jack Mooney and Zack Moss both won two for the KP5 while George McClurkin and Reza Kiani did the same for KP3.  It was John Underwood’s singles victory that gained at least a share for KP3 but the two youngsters took the doubles to make sure of two points each.

Regent Sports also had to share the spoils with Blaby and Whetstone in this division with Dave Daniels man of the match for B/W with a maximum.  Kevin Sanderson and Martin Bolton won their other two for Regent with the eventual 5-5 result a fair one.

Leicester Electricity thirds are showing a clean pair of heels so far in Division Three, although they only just managed to beat Great Glen 6-4 needing the doubles after Alex Mason had won all three for the losers.  As well as the doubles Shokat  Makani and Chris Woodfield each won two for the Sparks while Tomas Oravec contributed with one.

In Division Six Knighton Park eleventh team is romping away with their five man team of Ben Smulczynski, Ben Stone, Jack Rogers, Richard Martin (all juniors) and Kenny Obilaso scoring two 10-0 victories over the luckless Lutterworth Rotary in successive weeks.
