Knighton Park Table Tennis Club teams in Leicester have been performing well in the Rose Johnson Bowl, a four-a-side handicap competition organised by the County Association where all four players play each other one game up to 21, sixteen games in all.
KP4 caught up a 76 initial deficit by the eleventh game against Goons but then had to wait until the final game before Jack Mooney beat Steve Harrison 21-12 to settle the issue at 327-321. Mooney finished +33 while Conor Wilde and George McClurkin were both on +21.
14-year-old Aman Rashid has been playing very well this season and spearheaded a good win for KP3 against Syston after KP had started 48 points to the good. Rashid finished on +38 while Patrick Carton had a decent return at +25 with the final score 335-268 toKnighton Park.
The third victory was obtained by KP5 who beat Regent Sports by 24 points after the teams started level. Shirley Pickering was in sparkling form with + 43 while Ashley Palmer, a promising junior, came up with + 25. Charlie Bateman with + 25 was Regent’s best player.
