Teachers and young leaders from schools in London who have received indoor and outdoor tables through the Jack Petchey London Schools’ Table Tennis Table Donation scheme, were recently given the opportunity to attend one of two training days linked to the programme.
Highlighting opportunities and resources that can be used to develop table tennis within schools, the course focused on making the best use of space and equipment and ideas for competitive formats that could be used whatever time/space a school had access to, or the number of pupils involved.
23 candidates attended from 17 schools who took away a wide variety of Table Tennis resources the schools could use with their pupils. Below are links to information, video clips and online resources used on the day.
Comments from the course were very positive, “I really enjoyed the course and got lots of information” said one young leader. A teacher commented that “the ability to cater for large class sizes using limited equipment has been a great benefit …. an extrememly well run CPD course!” and “I now know how to set up the class to keep all students involved in each activity” said another teacher.
