Table Tennis England have gratefully received a new grant from the Jack Petchey Foundation (JPF) to extend the table tennis programme into a sixth year.

The new financial support, of just over £154,000, will be put towards rolling out 136 indoor and 100 outdoor table tennis tables to schools across London & Essex. The project also entails a host of training and competition opportunities throughout the area.

Sandra Deaton, Table Tennis England Chair said: “Table Tennis England is very proud to continue our involvement and association with the wonderful work of the Jack Petchey Foundation.

“We know that the benefits the Foundation brings to young people in and around London and Essex spread far and wide, and we are so pleased that table tennis is seen as one of the areas the Foundation wishes to support.

“The Foundation – and the personal enthusiasm of Sir Jack Petchey – has helped to bring table tennis directly to many young people through the investment in indoor and outdoor tables in schools, and support for table tennis in secondary schools.”

Since the project started, a total of 1,365 tables and 469 packages – which include bats, balls and other equipment – have been donated.

The 2016 table donation part of the of the programme has just opened for applications. State secondary schools, colleges and academies across London and Essex are invited to visit the programme website for more information and to apply online.
