Wet weather didn't put off the spectators to Jack's trip

Jack Hunter-Spivey, from Halton TT Club, was the latest Torch Bearer for the sport of table tennis when he rook over the flame in Lancaster.

He received the torch from Debbie Flood (most aptly named for the torrential conditions in the North-West). The Harrogate-born double Olympic silver medalist achieved her feats in the quadruple sculls at the 2004 and 2008 games.

She will be aiming to increase her medal haul with Team GB this year.

Although everyone got rather wet (as the pictures are testament to that) Jack really enjoyed the experience and Lancaster City Council invited all the Torch Bearers to a reception in the Town Hall later on.

Despite the rain the Olympic flame and Olympic spirits were not put out as we close in on the main event.
