General round up of events:

The main event of the Ilford League tournament was the Open Singles, which was well supported with 33 entries, with a strong field of top players including Ngoma, Spero, Zaunmayr, Mariano, Radford and Lam.

In the final, holder Darek Zurowski met number 3 seed Clive Carthy and what a superb final it was. Both players played an attacking game with accurate counter-hitting in generous supply. Darek emerged the winner 11-5, 8-11, 11-8, 11-5 and the audience was treated to some excellent play.

The Veterans Singles featured top seeds Ray Lam and former Essex Veteran champion Peter Radford. Lam emerged victorious winning11-7, 4-11, 11-6, 11-6.

The same pair were top seeds in the Veterans doubles, where they comfortably reached the final. However, in the final, there was a major surprise as Sal Ahmed and Ray Brown, who had never played as a doubles pairing before, beat Lam and Radford 11-9, 13-11, 11-6. In the semi-final, they had beaten number two seeds Paul Martindill and Phil Walker, also in straight games.
