Liam Pitchford is the top seed for the Heritage Oil Open

England’s Liam Pitchford and Paul Drinkhall are the top seeds in the Heritage Oil Open draw.

World No 56 Pitchford has been drawn to face Ireland’s John Murphy plus Billy Ho of Wiltshire and Mario Michaelides of Middlesex in the group stages.

Drinkhall, world ranked 82, faces Paralympian David Wetherill in what promises to be a fascinating encounter, and will also play Owe Karlsson (K) and Adam Nutland (Wo).

In the women’s draw, Joanna Drinkhall is the top-ranked English player, seeded No 4, and faces Sweden’s Malin Nilsson, Sarah Berge of France and Megan Phillips of Wales.

The action gets under way on Saturday July 5 at K2 in Crawley. The semi-finals and finals will be at the BT Sport Studio in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Monday July 7 from 5pm.

Spectating at the BT Sport studio is fully booked, so a 200-strong crowd is expected to cheer the semi-finalist and finalists on. Spectating at K2, Crawley is free.
