Responsible to: Greenhouse Programme Manager
Location: London Borough of Southwark
Salary: £22,000 – £29,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: 1 year fixed term (dependent on funding)
Hours: A minimum of 40 hours per week (will include regular evenings and weekends)
Holidays: 20 days per year + public / bank holidays
Greenhouse aims to develop social, thinking, emotional and physical skills for young people in London’s most disadvantaged communities through high quality, intensive sports programmes delivered by inspirational coaches, enabling them to take a positive STEP forward in life.
Working full time in schools and clubs, Greenhouse coaches develop strong relationships with our young people, helping them to improve their health and fitness whilst mentoring them to improve their engagement with their education and the community.
The Role Following the continued success of our existing Table Tennis programmes delivered in schools across London, Greenhouse is seeking to further develop its provision with our partner schools. We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic full time head coach to plan, manage and deliver a high quality and fully inclusive programme to our participants. You will act as both a coach and a mentor to support and enhance the comprehensive personal development of the student.
- Please note that the role will be split across two schools in Southwark, which are within close proximity of each other.
The Person
You will be a talented and engaging head coach, with a passion for working with young people and a strong track record of delivery high quality coaching programmes. The ideal candidate will be ETTA (or equivalent) minimum level 2 qualified and have experience of working with young people in a club or school setting. You will need to demonstrate strong mentoring skills.
You will be a confident and capable IT user, with the administrative and organisational skills needed to effectively plan and manage the programme. A commitment to working within the wider Greenhouse team and flexibility with your working hours is also essential. The idea candidate will also need to show a commitment to respecting the schools’ ethos and values.
