Volunteers play at Hull City Hall before the England match vs Romania

The Liebherr Men’s World Cup (Sept 28-30th) is just around the corner but there’s more to offer than just the international-class table tennis action on the main tables at the Echo Arena.

Alongside the refreshment bars and food areas there will also be the Topspin Donic ‘Come & Try Area’ where everyone can get involved and play their own brand of social ping pong.

Topspin Donic come & try area.

The Topspin Donic come and try area is an activity zone comprising 6 full size table tennis tables available to play on free of charge for the public.

It will be located in the spectator village alongside the public catering and table tennis equipment trade stands (shops) on the Arena floor.

School groups in particular have been targeted to attend and enjoy the world class action live but also to have a go at table tennis – and here they will be in good hands.

The area will be staffed by ETTA qualified coaches and local helpers who will pass on coaching tips, organise fun competitions and generally provide encouragement to anyone who wishes to play.

Bats and balls will be provided free of charge and the table tennis robot will be in action periodically as a novelty attraction.

Grateful thanks to equipment specialists Topspin Sports (distributor of DONIC equipment) who are kindly loaning all the equipment for the area.
