At 10am Sunday morning the two Women’s doubles matches were completed with a huge upset in the match between 2nd seeds Emma Vickers and Karina Le Fevre against the unseeded Cleveland pairing of Chloe Whyte and Jess Dawson with the latter gaining a famous National victory by 3 games to 1 to place them in the final scheduled for 2.50 pm.
In the other Women’s doubles semi final it was a relatively stroll in the park for the top seeds of Kelly Sibley and Jo Parker taking this last four match 4-0 and putting them firmly on course to retain their title.
The two remaining matches in the Men’s doubles went as per seeding with Paul Drinkhall and Liam Pitchford easing through the gears to book their place in the final with a 3-0 victory against Lawrence Trumpauskas and Craig Bryant.. In the other semi final it was a much closer call with the 2nd seeded pairing of Chris Doran and Danny Reed taking a 2-0 lead only to be pegged back By Darius Knight and Matt Ware to 2-2, but with an early lead at the turn of the fifth game and going 5-1 up, Doran and Reed made no mistakes keeping the ball on the table to reach their well rewarded place against top seeds Paul and Liam at 3.30pm
