Bookings are being taken for a free training course for new umpires in Grantham.

Cliffedale Chandlers TTC are hosting the course at Grantham Meres Leisure on Sunday July 10.

The course is for County Umpires and is potentially the first step on a career path to becoming an international umpire.The one-day course (10am-4pm) includes all aspects of umpiring, including the laws, checking the court and equipment, match procedures and scoring and will include an assessment and test paper, for which pre-course learning material will be supplied.

There is no charge to attend the course but places are limited to 14.
