Some more photographs from the Ransome Collection, of the Commonwealth Championships in 1985 on the Isle of Man.

These show some of the officials and officers, a necessary part of any event. As well as meetings and official business there is a social side of big occasions which is such an important part of major championships where new friendships are formed and old ones renewed with a wonderful camaraderie which make the long days worthwhile.

It’s been nice to have had positive feedback on the series over the last few weeks although one or two would prefer me not to name the players so they can try and rack their brains to see if they can recall who they are.
