Fancy playing table tennis for free in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park?

As part of the Active People, Active Park programme, which seeks to take sport into the Park to encourage local people to become more physically active, Table Tennis England are running free weekly sessions which are open to all during the summer holidays.

At the Timber Lodge Cafe, sessions run from 12.30pm to 2.30pm during August, in association with Ping! who are providing a qualified coach to co-ordinate activities and help participants to build on their skills.

Timber Lodge Cafe is based at 1a Honour Lea Avenue, E20 1DY, on the left of Celebration Avenue, and is just a 5-10 minute walk from both Stratford and Hackney Wick stations – see this map:

It is also planned to carry out sessions at Mirabelle Gardens, located off Penny Brookes road, close to Stratford International Station. These sessions will also run on Wednesdays throughout August, using the outdoor Ping! tables that have just arrived in the park as part of the summer festival. The Mirabelle Gardens sessions are to be confirmed but are set to run from 3.30pm to 5.30pm, and also be led by a qualified coach from Ping!
