Clubs and other grassroots sports bodies are being invited to sign up for a free workshop on good governance practices.

The Sport & Recreation Alliance has organised the workshop in collaboration with Birkbeck Sport Business Centre. It will take place in central London on Tuesday March 19 from 6-8.30pm and reservations are now being taken.

The workshop is perfect for sports clubs, community clubs, volunteers or organisers of sports activities in local communities, who are looking to review their current organisational structure or need help establishing good governance practices. It promises to break the subject down into manageable, bite-sized chunks.

These include:

  • Learn about the benefits of implementing good governance within your club or activity group
  • Get practical advice from sports governance experts
  • Learn how being a well governed club can increase your opportunities with funders, partners and members

There is also the chance to network with other grassroots organisations, volunteers and sport representatives.

This is a free workshop and light refreshments will be provided, but registration is required and spaces are limited so the SRA is advising people to book now.
