That’s massive” to quote from the maestro himself Gavin Rumgay, Scotland’s number 1 player (who pictured above) holds the Men’s Singles Grand Prix Champions trophy aloft for an unprecedented 4th consecutive time, which also applies to Damien Nicholls for his 4th consecutive title as Under 21 Men’s Open Singles Champion.
Both these players deserve huge respect on their individual achievements when you consider how extremely competitive the Grand Prix events are. The John Wooden saying applies, “Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there” and this epitomises both Gavin and Damien.
