The first two players for the World All-Stars team to compete against the Great Britain side at the ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals have been announced.

Egypt’s Omar Assar and Nadeen El-Dawletly are the first two members to be announced for the World All-Stars team ahead of the matches on Friday 25th November.

Twenty year old Assar and 18 year old El-Dawlatly both excelled at the All-African Games staged in Mozambique’s capital, Maputo which was held in September and as a result, have both qualified for the Olympic Games in 2012.

Assar won the Men’s Singles event while El-Dawltly finished fourth in the women’s event to secure their places. They are selected as pat of the ‘Olympic Solidarity – ITTF with the Future in Mind’ project, a programmed designed to support young and talented athletes.

They will face the British team including England’s number ones Paul Drinkall and Joanna Parker as well as the INTERSPORT European Championship’s giant-killer Liam Pitchford.
