Naphong Boonyaprapa and Georgios Gerakios powered to two group-stage victories to reach the Cadet Boys’ Team knockout rounds at the Egypt Junior & Cadet Open.

The Nottingham duo overcame Lebanon and a Saudi Arabia-Ukraine composite, both 3-0, either side of a 3-1 defeat to Egypt IV in the tournament at Sharm El Sheikh.

It put them into the quarter-finals, where their run was ended by a Tunisia-Egypt combination. Both boys now turn their attention to the singles and doubles competitions, which begin on Friday.
