Emma and Gavin Tovey

Fusion TTC members Emma and Gavin Tovey are taking their beloved sport on to the streets of London during Sunday’s London Marathon.

The pair will be carrying a mini table tennis table around the 26.2-mile course and stopping now and then to play a point or two at some of the great landmarks along the way.

They will also be raising money for the Brain and Spine Foundation in memory of Emma’s granddad Norman Tovey, who supported the charity when he ran the marathon in 2004 at the age of 81.

Emma, who plays for Fusion in the British League, said: “We are both passionate about table tennis and felt it would be an interesting take to the marathon – keeping score of the points may also take our mind off the number of miles we have left to run!”

The pair have so far raised more than £4,100. If you would like to sponsor them, visit www.justgiving.com/EmmaToveyMarathon/
