Elmbridge Xcel is embracing the Olympic event this year by running the Get Active in 2012 campaign.  The campaign highlights Olympic sports available at your local leisure centre by offering the community of Elmbridge the opportunity to participate in taster sessions and crash courses throughout the Olympic period.

The campaign runs at Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex throughout August and showcases over 15 Olympic sports not commonly associated to your local leisure centre including table tennis, synchronised swimming and trampolining among others.

As well as providing free taster sessions and courses in all the sports, every sport will have a continuation route so people can continue with a fitter lifestyle.  The campaign also supports The Gold Challenge run by team GB offering a venue for participants to complete their challenge and raise money for their chosen charity as well as some fantastic offers for using the facility.

Sports Development manager at Xcel, Carly Newstead, said: “This campaign is a great opportunity for all ages to come and try sports they have never tried before, all with no commitment into clubs or pricey course fees.  The fact that each sport has a continuation path once the campaign is over is great for anyone wanting to continue with a fitness regime that is a little different from your standard gym workout”

Campaign session dates & times will be released in a brochure shortly but for further info or to register for a brochure simply email [email protected] with GET ACTIVE as the header, or call 01932 260300.
