East region won two titles and there were five different champions as the team events ended in some thrilling battles at the Inter-Regional Finals in Hatfield.
East took the Cadet Girls and Under-11 Boys titles but missed a possible hat-trick as they were defeated by South East in the Under-13 Girls.
East Midlands won the Under-13 Boys competition but lost out to South West in the older Cadet Boys final.
The champions added to London, who won the Under-11 Girls title in a round-robin during yesterday’s play.
The winning London squad of Mia Lakhani, Eleanor Turner-Samuels and Isabella Turner-Samuels were also presented with their gold medals today alongside all the other champions.

Three of today’s finals went the distance but the most thrilling finish was the Under-13 Boys, between East Midlands and South East, in which both sides had match points in the deciding game of the deciding tie.
In the end, Cameron Driver prevailed 15-13 against George Noel to deliver gold for East Midlands, though it had looked a forlorn hope when he trailed 7-0 in the fourth game, before roaring back to win that 11-8.
Both boys dug deep in the decider but it was a vocal Driver who took it and he admitted: “Cho-ing a lot helped me! When I was in the fourth set and 7-0 down, my coach took a timeout and then I just fought deeper and cho-ed louder.
“As a team, we had a lot of sportsmanship and kept each other going and it feels really good to get gold.”
Noel had earlier given South East the lead by defeating Joseph Cooper, but Driver levelled against Ojasvil Borah and East Midlands then won the doubles.
Borah had a thrilling win of his own in the fourth rubber, overcoming Cooper 13-11 in the decider to level it a 2-2.
The girls’ final in the same age group also went to five, but this time South East were on the right end of the scoreline.
They had to come from behind as opponents East recovered from losing the first match (Evelyn Pace beating Darcy Brewer) to lead 2-1. Mabel Shute levelled for East against Emily Cheung, in five games, before Brewer & Shute took the doubles.
But Cheung overcame Brewer and Pace beat Shute, both in three straight, to win it for South East.
Pace, aged 12, said: “It was really stressful playing last, but it was fun as well and it feels really good to win. We’re from the same club and really good friends, so that helped us.”
East in turn won the Cadet Girls final 3-2 and also had to recover a 2-1 deficit. Angharad Beman won the first match for South West in five against Samadhi Udamulla, but Maliha Baig levelled against Lauren Loosemore in four. South West went back in front courtesy of the doubles, but top seed in the singles Udamulla saw off Loosemore in three and Baig then edged a close four-setter against Beman 3-1 (14-12, 11-8, 10-12, 14-12) to seal the gold.
The other Cadet final was done in four as South West bounced back from losing the first match – Georgios Gerakios defeating Jakub Piwowar in three – to win the next three.
Singles top seed Oliver Cornish levelled the score by beating Alexander Cochrane in four, and the South West then took the doubles, also in four. Piwowar completed the win in three straight over Cochrane.
The quickest final was the Under-11 Boys, which provided the first of East’s two victories as they beat the North East 3-0.
Isaac Kingham and Sudheep Kamma respectively overcame Seth Holland and Zac Greenhough, before the doubles combination of Kingham & Jeremy Davies sealed the deal.
10-year-old Isaac, from the Britannia club in Ipswich, said: “We all did well and to win it is like the end of a good journey. We always felt confident throughout each game and we supported each other and never gave up. All our tactics and training paid off.”
Focus now turns to the singles competition being played this afternoon.
