The 2010-11 Womens British League came to a conclusion over the weekend and in a totally dominant performance DHS Greenhouse Progress did not drop a single point as they marched to the Championship, closest challengers and runners up were Ormesby six points behind. Egle Adomelyte of DHS Greenhouse Progress also topped the Averages dropping only one match over the two weekends.
It was almost as dominant a performance as Halton TTC 1 claimed the Division 1 Title, they dropped only the one point and finished 4 points clear of the runners up Poole Ladies. Amanda Mogey of Irish Ladies leads the averages but she only played one weekend, there was a tie for second between Angharad Phillips of Halton and Emma Rose of Poole Ladies both with 17 wins from 20 matches.
Division 2 was very much tighter and Sportingbet Guernsey took the tile by a single point from runners up Burton Uxbridge. Alice Loveridge of Sportingbet Guernsey took the averages dropping only 1 match over the two weekends.
The Division 3 title went to another undefeated team, Byng Hall A, the runners up four points in arrears were Fusion WAGS. In the averages Charlotte Carey of Byng Hall was on top, undefeated over the two weekends.
Halton TTC had a good weekend as the second team took the Division 4 title dropping just 1 point and a mere seven points ahead of Morpeth Greenhouse TTC A in runners up place. Janay Gibson of Halton TTC 2 took the averages with an undefeated performance over the two weekends
Division 5 was another close result, AICES came out on top to take the title just one point ahead of Fusion Ladies. Several ladies played just a few games with 100% records Marianne Jorgenson of Fusion ladies, Helen Lambert of South West Girsl and Majada Yasmin of Morpeth Greenhouse but best of those who played both weekends was Isobel Ashley of AICES who dropped only one match out of eighteen.
Another year’s superb competition and thanks should go to Organiser John Hardcastle, Referee Gill Smith and all the Umpires without whom the event would not be half what it is.
