Table Tennis England is continuing to support clubs and leagues to welcome their members back to playing. In the most recent round of funding, clubs leagues and counties could apply for up to £500 to support activity to resume.

Applicants could apply to deliver TT Kidz or the TT Kidz award programme to under-11s, coaching for over-11s or to provide more playing opportunities for adults – for the adult sessions, all tiered systems rules have been followed. 30 projects have been supported through this most recent round of funding.

In addition, we have also repurposed the Inclusivity Grant to better align with the current landscape, supporting clubs and community organisations bid to help reduce the negative impact of COVID-19 and the widening of the inequalities in sport and physical activity among underrepresented or minority groups.

From January 2021, Table Tennis England will work with Premier & Associate Clubs as well as constituted community-led groups, who plan to use table tennis to engage people from Lower Socio-Economic groups, Black, Asian Minority Ethnic Communities and/or people with a disability or long-term health condition; those who are feeling the negative impact of the disease more so in the case of the wider population.

Grants of up to £400 per organisation have been made available for projects focussing on inclusivity and engaging people from one or more of the areas above. Given the nature of this funding and the likely demand in the new year, we aim to release a further round of funding to carry on this work.

Throughout the promotion of Table Tennis England’s suite of funding, we have also been keen to promote Sport England’s ‘Return to Play’ funding, also designed to support clubs return to play/recover following COVID-19 pandemic – further enhancing the range of support available.

A number of clubs across the country have had success  in applying to this fund including Halton Table Tennis club in Widnes – click here to find out more.
