THE NEW SEASON

There will be thirty-nine teams competing in the 2013/14 season in the Clacton and District League. This is one less than last year.

The Windsor and Walton Clubs have each entered an additional team, whilst Brotherhood has dropped two teams and Nomads one.

Once again the League will operate three Divisions, with thirteen teams in each Division:

Division One: Brotherhood A, B and D; Nomads Panthers, Cougars and Lions; Windsor Condors, Eagles and Hawks; Walton A, B, C and D.

Division Two: Brotherhood C, F, I and J; Nomads Tigers, Jaguars and Ocelots; Windsor Kestrels, Harriers, Owls, Ravens and Magpies; Lawford.

Division Three: Brotherhood E, G, H and L; Nomads Pumas, Leopards, Wildcats and Lynx; Windsor Kites, Penguins, Swallows and Ospreys; Walton E.

The season starts on Monday 16th September with the last playing day on Friday 2nd May 2014.

The Handicapped Singles Tournament will be held on Saturday 22nd February and the Closed Championships over the weekend of 26th and 27th April, both at the Coastal Academy Sports Hall.

The Knock-Out Cup Final takes place on Thursday 8th May at the Brotherhood Hall whilst the date and venue for the Junior Combination Tournament will be decided once the season is underway.

The League will run four teams in the Essex Inter-League – Mens (Team Secretary, Felipe Rodriguez), Juniors (Ferdy Rodriguez), Veterans (Colin Webber) and Super-Veterans (Colin Beaumont).

Players are reminded of their personal responsibility to register with the ETTA before the season starts. This can be done on-line, by post or by telephone. The registration fees this year are £8 (senior) and £4 (junior). Any queries should be referred to League Secretary Annabelle Rodriguez.

Any player who wishes to play, but is without a team for next season, should contact the League Secretary on 01255 221259.
