Former Chinese national team player Chen Min spent a successful few days in October coaching at the Archway Peterborough club and at a local school.
Chen, a qualified physical education teacher with a specialism of coaching table tennis to girls, shared her experience and expertise in a variety of club activities including with schoolchildren, the development squad, academy players and one-to-one tuition.
As part of her fact-finding visit, with a view to joining the existing club coaching team of Chris Doran, Gareth Herbert, Denis Neale and Michael Marsden, Chen also enjoyed cultural visits within the city.
Her visit backs up Archway’s ambition to become a leading British table tennis club. Club development officer Diccon Gray said: “We are putting in place a first-class coaching structure and a range of opportunities at all levels and this includes learning from the best.”
