Karina Le Fevre and Chris Doran are set to be crowned Grand Prix champions as the series concludes in London on May 9 and 10.

Redbridge Sports Centre is the once again the venue for what promises to be a big finale, with a bumper entry of more than 220 players and 30 tables in the hall.

Doran returns to the field after an absence of five events (three of them satellites) and will pick up the overall title as, having built up a big lead by winning three of the first four events of the season, he cannot be overtaken.

He is seeded third, however, in a line-up headed by Nottingham winner Ryan Jenkins and Glasgow champion Kenichi Matsubuchi of Sweden. Jenkins will have an eye on overtaking Matt Ware – himself seeded sixth – to claim second spot overall.

In the women’s draw, top seed Le Fevre has one hand on the trophy and barring an unlikely series of results will retain her overall title. The race for second is a straight fight between Emma Vickers and Abbie Milwain.
