Table tennis players will rub shoulders with some of the best cyclists on the planet when the Tour of Britain gets under way during an extravaganza of sport.

The opening stage sets off from Princes Park in Liverpool on Sunday September 7th.

And alongside the grand departure, there will be a free-to-enter mass participation event in the morning which gives a number of sports the chance to showcase themselves, including  table tennis, which will be played on the park’s Ping! tables.

Players from the area have been asked to provide coaching and encouragement to members of the public wishing to play – Ping! bats and balls will be provided.

Players willing to help on the day, please contact Don Davies of the Liverpool League on 07816 151648.
