The English cadet girls of Jessica Dawson, Tressa Armitage, Vicky Smith and Tin-Tin Ho achieved a bronze medal at the Cadet 6 Nations in France.

The girls had a tough start drawing top seeded Germany in the first match, although there were some close matches and some good performances, England lost 9-1.

The next match was against France which resulted in a 6-4 defeat. Jessica Dawson and Tin-Tin Ho picked up three wins along with a good doubles performance from Vicky Smith and Tin-Tin.

The girls had their first victory in the team event against Holland winning 6-4. The strengthening of the team’s spirit played a massive part in sealing the important win. All of the girls played a role in this victory.

As Denmark didn’t bring a girls team we automatically gained a 10 point victory. This meant our final match against Sweden would decide our final position.

The final score was 5-5 however this result didn’t reflect the player’s performance.  The girls waited nervously relying on a win or a draw from Holland against Sweden.  Fortunately for the English girls the result ended in a draw allowing the English girls to leave with their heads held high with a Bronze medal.
