U19 Girls Team Champions 2010

Who will lift the ESTTA Trophies?  Who will be crowned Butterfly National School Team Champions?  Come along and join us for a full day of top class schools’ table tennis!

Twenty nine schools have fought their way through County, Zone and Regional Championships to reach this year’s Finals to be held at the Hinckley Leisure Centre on Saturday 19th March 2011 with play starting at 9.30am.

Filton College, Bristol, Avon (Under 19 boys); Harefield Academy, Uxbridge, London West (Under 16 boys); Globe Primary School, Tower Hamlets, London East (Under 11 boys); Kesteven & Grantham Girls’ School, Grantham, Lincolnshire (Under 19 girls) and Trinity School, Brentwood, Essex (Under 16 girls) will be fighting to retain their crowns but will need to be on top form to beat the strong opposition from around the country.

Harefield Academy are joined by Bedford Modern School (Bedfordshire) and Calday Grange Grammar School (West Kirby, Merseyside) as the three schools to qualify for the finals in more than one age group.  Although there are familiar names returning to the finals, there are many new faces to be welcomed.

A full list of the competing teams can be found on the ESTTA website (www.estta.org.uk).

This event is the first of three major competitions to be staged this year in England by the English Schools’ Table Tennis Association.  The annual Butterfly Schools’ Individual Championships will be held at The Dome, Doncaster on Saturday 16th April 2011 and the Butterfly Invitation International at The National Sports’ Centre, Lilleshall on the weekend of 24th/26th June 2011.  Teams representing the Schools’ Table Tennis Associations from Guernsey, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Scotland and Wales will be joining the host country.

The British Primary Schools’ International will this year be held in Wales on the weekend of 1st/3rd April 2011.  ESTTA will be sending boys and girls teams, which will be selected immediately following the National Team Finals, to this event
