Chris Doran in British League action after going to the Finlandia Open last week

The second weekend of British League Premier Division action takes place this weekend at BATTS Table Tennis Club.

The leaders after the first week – B-BATT Pavilion I, scored a maximum eight points last time and they are definitely the team to beat as they take on Westfield I, London Progress I, Wymondham Grantham and Fusion I over the course of the weekend.

Drumchapel Glasgow have six points and they will be pleased that they will have the services of England no. six Chris Doran this weekend. Doran, plus any three from the tried and tested quartet of Ryan Jenkins, Gareth Herbert, Steven Jenkins and Terry Young will presumably be their first choice-side.

Barrow know they face an uphill task to retain their title having lost the services of Paul Drinkhall and Darius Knight but their squad which includes Scottish no. one Gavin Rumgay, England no. nine Gavin Evans and England no. 16 Craig Bryant still won’t be easy to beat.
