The season’s first Britannia Suffolk Senior Table Tennis Grand Prix takes place on Sunday the 21st of October from 9:30am at the Britannia dome in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Approved by the ETTA with national ranking points, up to 24 competitors will compete for the first title from four GP events during the season and the fantastic news is that last year’s overall winner; Scottish number one Gavin Rumgay, is confirmed as playing.

Rumgay has recently been recruited as a commentator on the World Tour events so it is especially pleasing to see him play as his schedule will restrict his tournament options in the British season.

England number eight lady Lauren Spink and Men’s national ranked number 30 Neil Charles will be amongst the hopefuls to stop Rumgay as will be Suffolk star Ryan Collins who won his first GP last season when beating Niall Cameron in last year’s corresponding event.

Making a return to the area is Brazilian player Elson Costa who’s pen hold grip makes him potentially dangerous while crowd pleaser Ipswich’s Andrew Warner is sure to entertain.

With four groups of up to six players then banding events there are sure to be some thrilling matches.

With generous sponsorship from Tees Sport and All UK Best Discos enabling very decent prize money, this event has attracted players from the Anglia region, the home counties and the midlands.

Entry to watch this event as ever is totally free and the action starts from 9:30am. Refreshment is available on site.
