Men's Band 1 Champion from 2012, Steve Beerling, makes this season's bow

The draw for the Bribar Guildford Grand Prix is now available online with a record entry of 161 players expected at the Guildford Spectrum this weekend (September 7-8th).

With players attending from not just across the British Isles, but from locations from around the world including China, France and Switzerland, the number of entries has successfully surpassed 2012’s previous record of 138 participants for the Bribar Guildford GP.

In the Men’s Singles, Ryan Jenkins, winner from the season-opening Tees Sport Liverpool GP, is the top seed and hot favourite with neither Gavin Rumgay or Chris Doran able to attend.

Second seed, Irishman Paul McCeery, will hope to build on his successes last year by fending off competition from the likes of Matt Ware, Mike O’Driscoll and Yongbo Zhang to reach the final.

In the Women’s Singles, defending Bribar Guildford GP Champion Hannah Hicks returns to the circuit as top seed with fellow defender and Tees Sport Liverpool GP Women’s Singles winner, Sarah Berge, as the second seed.

Behind the two ‘choppers’ are a quintuplet of youngsters hoping to make their mark in the south as Tin-Tin Ho, Yolanda King, Megan Phillips, Angharad Phillips and Maria Tsaptsinos are set to challenge for the main prize.

As usual there are the banded events, Under-21s, Veterans and Open Doubles included in the draw, which can be found at the link below:
