Every single session of the table tennis Olympic event will be available on the red button through the Sky platform and on the BBC website, BBC online. The BBC will have 24 channels on the Sky platform as this is the maximum number of sports that will be taking place at any one time.

Freeview will be more limited as the BBC only have a much smaller number of channels available through this outlet.

All four tables on show at the Games will have television cameras on them with the BBC selecting the most newsworthy matches, the likelihood being that the Team GB matches will be those first shown. The TV commentary will be provided by former Olympian and journalist Matthew Syed and the ITTF’s information guru Ian Marshall.

Online viewers will be able to view the event in HD providing they have adequate bandwidth so if you’re on the move you won’t miss a minute of Paul, Jo, Liam, Andrew, Kelly, and Na’s matches in the 30th Olympiad.

Details of the coverage on the Sky platform can be picked up from the Sky menu as Sky are loaning the BBC extra channels for their Olympic coverage.

There will also be coverage from both the ETTA and the ITTF as all the results and statistics can be found here. During the Games, articles will be posted, quotes and photos and a live scoring service will be available.
