The health benefits of table tennis were front and centre at the Brand Licensing Europe expo in London.
Hundreds of delegates stopped at the Bounce Alzheimer’s Therapy (BAT) stand to have a go on one of the tables, which included one made of Lego and another specially designed to help provide therapy for people with Alzheimer’s. Scotland’s top player, Gavin Rumgay, also dropped in.
Table Tennis England Clubs & Disability Officer Steve McFadyen, who also spent a day at the event, said: “As an organisation, we’re very keen to support this charity, which promotes the health benefits of table tennis.
“There is some exciting research that shows the sport can be really beneficial to people living with dementia and Alzheimer’s and it was wonderful to see that research, and the sport in general, promoted to so many people.”
